Pass in a Flash®
is an Internet-based program developed to help students prepare for the Ohio Achievement
Tests (OAT).
This program is written specifically to the Ohio Academic Content Standards to help
students:
- raise test scores,
- increase test-taking skills,
- reduce test anxiety,
- build confidence through the use of audio programs, interactive tutorials, practice
tests, and
- receive feedback on their strengths and weaknesses by Standard, Benchmark, and Grade-Level
Indicator.
Features
Diagnostic
Two full-length practice tests identify strengths and weaknesses by Benchmark and
Grade-Level Indicator. Tests are immediately scored with printable reports.
Tutorial
Students complete an interactive test, with immediate feedback, in order to reinforce
test-taking skills and learning.
Prescriptive
Teachers can use reports to guide students through subject areas for focused instruction
by Benchmark and Grade-Level Indicator.
Helps Target Lessons
Classroom reports will indicate the exact Standard, Benchmark, and Grade-Level Indicators
in which the class needs further review or instruction to reinforce learning.
Differentiated Learning
Students at all levels can work at their own pace.
Response to Intervention
Students’ strengths and weaknesses are charted, progress through the program
is tracked, and many exportable data and printable reports are available.
Value Added
Students’ records are tracked by Student Name or ID; student data exports
to an Adobe® PDF or Microsoft® Excel file in the format of printable reports.
Scientifically Based
Proven techniques, such as question and answer format with immediate feedback, are
used that increase skills and reinforce learning.
Master Test-Taking Strategies
Sets of interactive and engaging animated lessons instruct students on how to be
better test-takers.
Reduce Test Anxiety
Interactive and engaging animated sets of lessons teach students about test anxiety
so they have the knowledge and ability to reduce test stress.
Benefits to Schools
A district-wide purchase allows the District Administrator to view and print data
on each level: District, Building, Grade-Level, Teacher, and Student. The Building
Principal can view and print data by Grade, Subject, and Classroom. A Teacher can
view and print data on his/her students. The Student can view and print his/her
results. Data can be exported to an Adobe® PDF or Microsoft® Excel file
and printed.
A Building Level purchase allows the Building Administrator to view and print data
on each level: Grade-Level, Teacher, and Student. The Teacher can view and print
data on his/herstudents. The Student can view and print his/her results. A comprehensive
set of reports can be generated by the Building Administrator and can be exported
to a PDF or Microsoft® Excel file and stored or printed.
Best Practices
Set up mock testing dates, building or district-wide, at the start of the school
year. Assign Practice Test 1, view results, and based on those results, setup review
sessions, or individualized instruction for students. The Tutorial section of the
Online Course should be completed during this period, which will allow students
to review, be assessed, and provide immediate feedback as they practice their test-taking.
Two months prior to the actual test, set up mock testing dates again with Practice
Test 2, view results, and assess any other last minute review needed by building,
classroom, or individual student.
